We all remember the gaucho pant of the early 2000’s, and we vowed never again to sport these wide-legged, ankle-bearing bottoms again no matter what the trends may dictate. But have a variation of these already come back around?
Enter: the culotte.
The culotte is a pants-shorts hybrid that is almost like a cropped palazzo, but infinitely more chic. If these have you squirming at the thought of the despicable gaucho, bear with us. These bottoms offer more than a few more cool points than their slim-legged counterparts.
What we love most about the culotte is its versatility in volume, print, material and style, as well as its (surprising) ability to flatter most body types. If you’re petite, a shorter variation will elongate the leg. Got an athletic frame? An extra A-line style will create curves where Mother Nature didn’t.
